Yes – we do have some rules. They’re not meant to impede your enjoyment, but to ensure that all guests and neighbours can enjoy their time here.
Noise and Behaviour
- All guests are required to act in a quiet, respectful manner.
- Music is not permitted outside. Music inside should not be audible to those in neighbouring properties.
- No parties are allowed to avoid noise complaints but also because too many guests will strain the septic systems.
Occupancy
- For the 2 bedroom cabins, there is a maximum of 2 vehicles each.
- For Avoca North and the Cozy Cottages, there is a maximum of 4 adults per cabin. For Avoca Ridge South, there is a maximum of 6 adults. These maximums include guests. The septic systems are not equipped to handle more people flushing toilets and having showers.
- All cabins are NON-SMOKING.
- Towels or blankets that belong to the cottage, may not be used outside at the beach or by the fire.
- Cottages are to be left as they were found upon arrival with dishes dried and put away, sinks washed and floors vacuumed/swept.
Pets
- Pets are not allowed.
- This includes your overnight guests’ pets. If you have a guest for a day visit, they can bring their dog, but they must be leashed at all times, cleaned up after, and not allowed in the cottage or left outside to bark or dig holes.
Garbage & Recycling
- Garbage and recycling is to be properly sorted and containers flattened.
- Please take any broken beach chairs or toys home with you.
- Please do not flush wet wipes (even brands that claim to be ‘flushable’). They are hard on septic systems and clog old pipes.
Fires
- Fires are to be attended to. Please extinguish fires when going out for the day or evening.
- Bring your own firewood.
Grounds
- Respect and protect the river bank. Do not break branches from trees or tromp on plants.
- Respect and protect the trees. Please do not embed your pocket knife, hatchet or saw in tree trunks.
- If you smoke (outside), please do not discard butts on the grounds or the river bank.
- Grounds are to be left as they were upon arrival
